100 hour course (1 year)
This dynamic and engaging one year Food Technology course allows students to explore a variety of food safety and hygiene aspects, essential cooking techniques and key concepts of nutrition. The 100 hour course is a great introduction into the world of food, its purpose in our lives, society and ultimately its industry. The course enables the student to learn valuable skills for life and teaching them to become savvy consumers.

200 hour course (2 year)
Building the capacity of our previous Food Technology students, this 2 year course allows them to explore Australian cuisine today through traditional, contemporary and multicultural influences. The 200 hour course increases students’ culinary skills with interesting meals and dishes. Creativity, innovation, design and a real appreciation of food in society is analysed.

Food Technology Focus Areas
There are eight focus areas:
Students undertaking the 100 hour course are required to complete 3–4 focus areas. Students studying the 200 hour course are required to complete 6–8 focus areas.
