Commerce 100 Hours

This course is designed around the core sections of the commerce syllabus. Students will study modules  around the idea of making wise consumer and financial choices as well as  how, as active citizens, students can live with the law and benefit from it.

Commerce 200 hours

This course builds on the content of the 100 hour course and students investigate about the commercial and legal world they live in from different perspectives. Students will investigate the world of owning your own business. Students will learn the art of business management first hand as they plan, organise and run their own business at school.

Students will also learn about the skills they need as the embark into the world of independence. Students will become more aware of the responsibilities of independence and the support that is available to them as they venture into the workforce.

This course also provides students with the opportunity to work independently on an interest project of their choice in year 10.

We offer commerce to students in either a 100 hour course or a 200 hour course. The 100 hour course is completed in one calendar year wile the 200 hour course runs over both years 9 and 10.

Commerce provides students with the knowledge, skills, understanding and values that they need to make sound decisions when dealing with consumer, financial, business, legal and employment issues. Commerce enables students to become informed citizens who are competent in their understanding of the Australian and global commercial and legal systems.
