Learning languages opens minds to difference where diversity is seen as a regular part of society. Proficiency in languages provides a national resource that encourages more effective engagement with the global community.
Quakers Hill High School currently offers Japanese, Korean and Punjabi as our language subjects, with a mandatory language subject (Japanese) for our year 8 students.
The rich linguistic and cultural diversity of New South Wales provides an educational environment where the study of languages and cultures is valued as a unique and integral part of the curriculum.

There is considerable evidence to suggest that learning another language can enhance literacy in a student’s first language and build useful cognitive and social skills that are beneficial in all areas of school and later life. Through learning languages students can understand and value their own culture and the cultures of other people, so that they can view the world from a wider perspective.
