Work studies will provide you with the knowledge and skills that you will need as you transition into the world of work such as great verbal and written communication skills, working to deadlines and the ability to think critically.
Learning work studies
This course is a great option for students not aiming for an ATAR and would like to focus on their employability when they complete the HSC.
The work studies CEC syllabus is designed to assist students in their transition from school to work. It develops knowledge and understanding of the issues faced by students in the transition to work and the skills needed for effective career planning and performance of tasks in the work environment.

Integral to the work studies syllabus is a focus on the development of essential workplace skills. They are central to the core module and each of the elective modules. Students have an opportunity to practise these skills in appropriate work contexts.
This course is suited for students who wish to explore pathways outside of university and pursue work opportunities in the near future. In this course students will be introduced to the world of work. Students will learn valuable skills such as writing a resume, succeeding in job interviews, and how to stand up for their rights in the workforce.
Students will also complete activities such as the $20 business challenge that introduces them to entrepreneurship, and work experience in an industry of their choosing.
