The English faculty run a variety of competitions throughout the year.
Teams are selected and go to coaching clinics. They have opportunities to compete in the western Sydney regional competitions, The Premier's Debating Challenge and the collegiate debating challenge against other schools in the area.
The awards aim to inspire students to express their thoughts creatively through poetry and, by doing so, support the legacy of Dorothea Mackellar and her legendary poem 'My Country'.
Run by Educational Assessment Australia (a partner with UNSW). It is an international competition to test students reading, writing and spelling skills.
The NSW Premier's Reading Challenge (PRC) is available for all NSW students in Kindergarten to Year 9, in government, independent, Catholic and home schools.
The Challenge aims to encourage in students a love of reading for leisure and pleasure and to enable students to experience quality literature. It is not a competition but a challenge to each student to read, to read more and to read more widely.
Write 4 Fun is a unique site that showcases some of the finest young writing talent in the world today. There are great stories and poems to read and share with friends, the chance to enter contests to win great prizes and tons of information on getting published.
